Barix AG, a pioneer in IP-based audio, intercom, control, and monitoring, will bring its full range of Audio over IP products for broadcast radio and other professional audio applications to Caper 2009, taking place from October 28-30 at Costa Salguero Exhibition Centre in Buenos Aires, Argentina (Booth F-18). Barix management and representatives for Latin America will be on-hand to discuss how radio broadcasters can use the IP environment and apply Barix products to save cost and improve performance at the same time.
“Barix has seen a great deal of interest from the Latin American market in recent years, especially from broadcasters who have found exceptional value and reliability in using Audio over IP solutions for STL, program distribution, confidence monitoring and other broadcast radio applications,” said Johannes G. Rietschel, CEO and Founder of Barix AG. “Caper is a significant show for broadcasters throughout Latin America, with a great deal of emphasis on new technologies for radio stations and networks, and we are pleased to being represented this year by our distributor FS24 for the first time.”

Esteban Camihort, Commercial Manager for FS24 SRL, added: “Barix products perform very impressively, and considering the very affordable price level we believe the products will revolutionize the adoption of Audio over IP distribution across South America and the greater Latin American market.” FS24 SRL (www.fs24.com.ar) is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Caper 2009 will mark the Latin American debut of the Barix Exstreamer 1000, a professional Audio over IP device designed specifically for radio broadcasters. The one-half, 19-inch rack mount solution combines Barix Instreamer and Exstreamer functionality in one device, and adds balanced inputs and outputs, a high-quality A>D/D>A signal converter and a professional AES/EBU interface. It is also the first Barix IP Broadcast device to include contact closures to trigger and control local announcements, giving local stations more control of what their listeners hear during breaks.

Barix will also exhibit its low cost Instreamer/Exstreamer 100 product range, which support a variety of point-to-point or point-to-multipoint radio broadcast applications for basic STL connectivity, remote program pick-up and IP-based program distribution for radio networks. The Instreamer/Exstreamer combination is also ideal for syndication applications that send programming from a central studio to multiple affiliates, sharply reducing costs associated with satellite distribution while also providing options for localized insertion of advertisements, promos, station IDs.

Barix Instreamer Audio over IP devices are also ideal for streaming live programming directly to the internet for radio stations streaming content online. Alternatively, program audio received by Barix Exstreamers direct from an Instreamer or over the Internet can distribute audio into a mixing console and/or automation system at the studio; or directly into a transmitter.

Barix will also exhibit Audio and Intercom over IP solutions from its Annuncicom product family, which are ideal for radio applications where two-way audio is required. The Annuncicom 1000 is especially suitable for talk and sports programming where broadcasters can talk/moderate as well as monitor the live feed as it goes out to air. The Annuncicom 1000 offers full duplex audio as part of its two-way, enhanced Audio over IP architecture that also includes multiple relay and contact closures.
