newest member of the T-VIPS Video Gateway suite is the TVG450, which extends the company’s lead in high-quality, low-latency, robust and cost-effective JPEG2000 over IP transport solutions. As well as sourcing many of the components for this product from Arrow, the company also made use of Arrow’s engineering support, particularly in the implementation of FPGA and DSP technologies.
Now, with the TVG450 in volume manufacture, T-VIPS is benefiting from Arrow’s advanced supply chain solutions, including commitment to inventory levels, ensuring the ready availability of the semiconductors, passive components, connectors and other technologies on which the gateway is built.
Johnny Dolvik, T-VIPS CEO, said, “The TVG450 takes advantage of the unmatched quality of JPEG2000 compression and the inherent flexibility of IP to provide an efficient, affordable and scalable transport solution for studio-quality high-definition video. By offering a comprehensive source for all of the key electronic components, backed up by strong, local engineering support, Arrow helped us to minimize design and prototyping times. Now, in volume manufacture, the company’s inventory commitment and global supply chain expertise ensures that we continue to meet customer demand in a climate where there is worldwide pressure on the availability of some individual components.”
The T-VIPS TVG450 supports multiple JPEG2000 compressed video channels to provide high-quality video transport with minimum encoding and decoding delays. The product offers, in a single unit, one 3G SDI channel or two HD-SDI or four SDI channels. With the TVG450, 3D and HDTV signals can be transmitted over Gigabit Ethernet links. Arrow has worked closely with T-VIPS since the company was formed in 2004 and provides components and support for other products in the T-VIPS portfolio, including the cProcessor range of processing, multiplexing and switching technologies.
