Dialog Semiconductor ICs power Sharp’s latest 3G Phones

Dialog Semiconductor has announced its power management ICs have been designed into a series of Sharp 3G cellphones. The first of which, the Sharp AQUOS SHOT 940SH, is available now from the Japanese network operator, Softbank.

The high performance 3G cellphone features a TV tuner, 4 ½ VGA touch screen, 12.1 mega pixel camera – capable of continuous shooting for 100 frames at 45fps. The device also supports the new services from Softbank allowing downloads from its e-book store and video on demand service.

We have worked closely with Sharp to ensure that the latest AQUOS SHOT, achieves the lowest possible power consumption while delivering to the user an impressive multimedia experience, said Dr Jalal Bagherli, CEO of Dialog Semiconductor. Effective power management was therefore critical and Dialog is proud to be a key enabling factor for Sharp.
