The SN65MLVD2 type-1 M-LVDS receiver provides the best noise margin with switching occurring near the zero volt (differential) input level. The SN65MLVD3 type-2 M-LVDS receiver provides built-in failsafe
protection and eliminates the need for external pull-up/down resistors.
Other key features include:
* Clock frequencies up to 125 MHz
* Signaling rates up to 250 Mbps
* Supports 30-ohms to 55-ohms line impedances
* SN65MLVD2 type-1 receive with 25 mV of input threshold hysteresis to
prevent output ringing
* SN65MLVD3 type-2 receive with 100 mV offset threshold to detect
open-circuit and idle-bus conditions
* Wide receiver common-mode Vin range, -1 V to 3.4 V allowing up to 2 V
of ground noise
* Meets or exceeds the M-LVDS standard TIA/EIA-899 for multipoint
topology
* High input impedance with low Vcc
* Bus-pin HBM ESD protection exceeds 9 kV
The addition of the SN65MLVD2 and SN65MLVD3 complements Texas Instruments’ M-LVDS family of products including transceivers, drivers, receivers and clock fan-out buffers. Texas Instruments’ interface IC offering for telecommunications also includes LVDS, PECL, RS-485,
PCI-Express and gigabit Ethernet serializers and deserializers (SerDes).
Both the SN65MLVD2 and SN65MLVD3 are available in volume quantities from TI and its authorized distributors packaged in 8-pin small outline package (DRB). Suggested resale pricing in 1,000-piece
quantities is $1.45 each for both the SN65MLVD2 and SN65MLVD3.
