Compass lamp saved from obsolescence by Aerco

Aerco, the distributor of lamps for over 50 years to the MOD, aviation, industrial and commercial markets, has rescued from obsolescence a copper based, filament lamp, especially designed for use in systems that use a magnetic compass for navigation.

This 28VDC, 0.04A, S6s/8, midget flange, platinum filament, 15.8 x 6.3mm, non-magnetic, copper-based lamp has been obsolete since 1999. Aerco has now reinstated this lamp, NATO stock ref: 6240.99.995-9121, by placing an order for 5,000, the minimum quantity that was viable for the manufacturer. Aerco now holds 500 in stock at all times.

Aerco supplies over 900 types of lamps including aviation, military, automotive, fluorescent, sealed beams, NATO specified and many standard commercial types and has always provided a service of sourcing lamps for any market.
