The family initially consists of 850nm solutions for the fibre channel and Gigabit Ethernet markets, as well as a 1310nm solution which addresses long-wave Gigabit Ethernet requirements.
The transceivers are fully compliant with the IEEE Ethernet and ANSI fibre channel standards but, according to Geoff Philpot, Managing Director at Focus EDL, they can also be used for other datacoms applications within their operating parameters.
Commenting on the new transceivers, Geoff Philpot says, “Stratos is well known for its innovative product design combining advances in performance with miniaturization.
