Stepper-motor driver for adaptive front lights

This reference design from Texas Instruments details a solution to drive and control two stepper motors for dynamic headlight levelling and swivelling in automotive headlight applications such as an adaptive LED driving module or a high-resolution DLP module.

It uses a local interconnect network (LIN) system basic chip with integrated linear voltage regulator, two stepper motor drivers with a serial peripheral interface (SPI) and a microcontroller LaunchPad development kit.

The design features up to one amp motor current, is CISPR25 compliant and functions as a fully integrated solution.
