Active in its early years as a workshop for mechanics and turned parts, the binder company began production of circular connectors in 1968 and in 1972, binder established its headquarters in Rötelstraße in Neckarsulm. Since the turn of the millennium, the binder Group has developed into an internationally active family-owned business which today employs 1,800 people at 16 locations worldwide. The management of the company was passed on to Markus Binder in 2014.
Franz Binder was not only an outstanding entrepreneur, but also a sincere and firmly rooted person. The welfare of his fellow human beings was dear to his heart – especially that of his employees to whom his door was always open. Throughout his life, he maintained his humanity and he set standards in doing so. For Franz Binder, it was always important to cultivate his relationships with ‘his people’. Many of his employees and business partners will surely remember with a fond memory his statement, ‘If the company is doing well, the people should be doing well.’
A life time of achievement
Markus Binder, executive partner of the binder Group, commented on the death of Franz Binder: ‘My family and I are deeply saddened by this tremendous loss. My father achieved so much in his lifetime. I admire, above all, his courage in making decisions without ever losing sight of his goals.’ Franz Binder’s name will always remain inextricably linked with our company.
