Reference design shows power couple of EtherCAT P

This reference design shows a physical implementation of the power couple in circuitry of an EtherCAT P power sourcing device. The reference design is designed to meet all requirements from the official EtherCAT P implementation guide.

This includes features like reverse polarity protection, in-rush current limit, and continuous current limit, all based on semiconductors from Texas Instruments.

Features

  • EtherCAT and power over one cable.
  • Designed to meet EtherCAT P implementation guide.
  • Input power protection against reverse polarity, overcurrent and more.
  • Can be connected to any EtherCAT communication platform with an ethernet cable.
  • Additional 5/12V output for easy evaluation using AMIC110 ICE.
