RF amplifier provides 18 dB of ultra-flat gain

An RF amplifier for CATV applications from MACOM Technology Solutions is available at Richardson RFPD along with full design support. The MAAM-011220 provides 18dB of ultra-flat gain while biased at either 8 or 5V. The amplifier provides excellent linearity, high gain, low noise and low distortion, making it ideally suited for 75Ω infrastructure applications.

The MAAM-011220 is fabricated using GaAs pHEMT technology and is assembled in a SOT-89 plastic package.

Additional key features of the device include:

  • Single stage, single-ended
  • 8V, 130 mA or 5V, 110mA operation
  • Flat gain: 18 dB
  • Noise figure:
    • 2.6dB @ 50–100MHz
    • 2.4dB @ 100–1218MHz
  • Low distortion performance
