The microcontrollers boast a rich set of peripherals, flexibility, and ease-of-use at a low entry cost, making them ideal for a wide range of general-purpose uses, including home automation, consumer, metering, and industrial applications.
The devices include intelligent and flexible peripherals, six-channel Atmel Event System for inter-peripheral signaling, and support for capacitive touch button, slider, and wheel user interfaces.
The devices also include a six-channel direct memory access (DMA) controller, a programmable interrupt controller, 32-bit real-time clock and calendar, and two 16-bit Timer/Counters (TC), each of which can be configured to perform frequency and waveform generation.
The SAM D09 devices provide two Serial Communication Modules (SERCOM) that each can be configured as USART, UART, SPI, I2C, SMBus, PMBus, or LIN slave.
SAM D09 devices are available from Mouser Electronics in a 24-pin QFN or 14-pin SOIC package version.
The QFN version offers 22 general-purpose input/output (GPIO) pins, 16 Kbytes of programmable flash memory, 4 Kbytes of SRAM, and a 10-channel analogue-to-digital converter (ADC). The SOIC version offers 12 GPIO pins, 8 Kbytes of programmable flash memory, 4 Kbytes of SRAM, and a 5-channel ADC.
