DC/DC converters are offered in a SIP-8 package

The world’s first DC/DC converters offered in a SIP-8 package has been released by Power Sources. The TMR 9 and TMR 9WI series provides an isolated and regulated output voltage delivering 9W of output power to our TRACO Power portfolio.

The TMR 9 series achieves a 50% higher power density compared to conventional SIP converters and occupies only 2.0cm2 of board space. All models are equipped with a flat switching transistor with extended dissipation surface. Combined with an extra thermo-conducting potting compound the heat losses can be optimally transferred to the metal casing and dissipated to the environment. An operating temperature range of –40 to +60°C at full load or up to +85°C with a 50% load de-rating these units reliably operate under extreme environmental conditions. Standard features include 1500VDC I/O-isolation voltage, external On/Off, short current protection and EMC according EN55022 class A. The converters are available with 2:1 (TMR 9) or 4:1 (TMR 9WI) input range and single and dual output voltages.

The very compact dimensions of these converters make them a suitable solution for many space critical applications in communication equipment, instrumentation and industrial electronics.

Pricing starts under $18 each in OEM quantities. Prototype quantities are available, stock to two weeks after receipt of order. All TRACO Power products are backed by a three year warranty.
