Connector system halves lighting tooling costs

The Molex Ditto range of wire-to-wire interconnects and pre-assembled harnesses are in stock at Farnell element14. The harnesses halve the tooling and operational costs of plug-and-receptacle power connector systems. This enables increased cost savings and operational efficiency of low-amperage consumer and lighting applications.

The range is suited for HVAC equipment, home security and appliances, and for solid state lighting applications including displays and signage, and transportation lighting.

The genderless connector system provides a 2.50mm pitch, single housing-and-terminal interconnect solution, which supports low-amperage, 20-26 AWG wire-size applications, and features many advantages including a same circuit size configuration that ensures compatibility and mateability.

The system uses only one preset applicator machine which enables speedy tool setup and the one housing, one terminal interconnect system increases operational efficiency with no change over required; less inventory is needed resulting in higher cost savings.

The pre-assembled and ready-to-use Ditto pigtail harnesses allow even faster application says Farnell element14.

In addition, Molex Ditto polarised housing geometry prevents mis-mating and friction lock prevents accidental disengagement. Its anti-twist feature ensures proper seating of terminal in the housing.
