Conduit provides additional protection for M12 connector

HARTING has introduced a new version of its established M12 connector with a conduit which provides the attached cable with additional protection against external influences, making it suited for tough industrial applications. The ‘M12 with conduit’ solution offers IP protection class 65/67 and operates over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C.

The standard housing now accommodates plastic tubing of a nominal 10mm width, providing customers with the option of adding further protection by simply fitting a plastic tube.

The connector and the associated cable are joined with a reliable crimping method and can be supplied either in four- (d-coding) or five-pole (a-coding) configurations, both as plug or socket. In order to achieve the corresponding protection classes and provide strain relief, seals for various cable diameters of 4.5-8.8mm are included in the package.
