For the past year, AdoptSMT has been offering the repair of original nozzle magazines by replacing the plastic shutter with a robust shutter made from anodised aluminium. A four digit number of repairs have already been performed, which resulted not only in savings for the customers but also in a large reduction of waste.
Previously, customers have bought a three digit number of new nozzle magazines with an aluminium shutter for a higher price. AdoptSMT was looking for a method to supply such magazines without having to replace new plastic shutters, which are turned to waste this way. In order to fulfil other wishes, including longer lasting nozzle garages and centering holes, it was necessary for the company to move away from single improvements to the approach of designing a completely new magazine.
This new magazine is manufactured with a hardened base plate and a non-moving top plate with complete round holes as nozzle garages, allowing the nozzles sit securely. The nozzles are held in position by springs.
