160W DC/DC converters meet railway requirements

Designed for industrial applications requiring chassis mounting, the TEQ 160WIR series of high performance 160W DC/DC Power Blocks have been announced by Powersolve. The eight models meet EN50155 requirements and include resistance to shock, vibration and temperature extremes, making them suited for railway applications.

Featuring an ultra-wide 4:1 input voltage range, the TEQ 160WIR Power Blocks come in a rugged, sealed, heatsink-style metal case which allows the units to operate at temperatures up to +70°C with no derating and up to +90°C with power derating. Output voltages range from 12 to 48VDC while output currents can be up to 15A.

According to Powersolve, the very wide input voltage range and reverse input voltage protection make these converters a workable solution for battery operated systems. Manufactured by TRACO, the Power Blocks incorporate an EN 55022, class A compliant input filter as well as output voltage trimming, remote on/off and under voltage lock-out.
