Low noise amplifier operates at 0.3 GHz to 20 GHz

Richardson RFPD is offering availability and full design support capabilities for a GaAs pHEMT MMIC LNA from Analog Devices (ADI). The HMC1049LP5E operates between 0.3 and 20 GHz and provides 15 dB of small signal gain, 1.8 dB noise figure, and output IP3 of +29 dBm, while requiring only 70 mA from a +7V supply.

The P1dB output power of +14.5 dBm enables the HMC1049LP5E to function as an LO driver for balanced, I/Q or image reject mixers. The LNA is internally matched to 50 Ohms and is available in a compact, leadless QFN 5 mm x 5 mm surface mount package.

The device is part of ADI’s complete, integrated portfolio of products that now includes Hittite’s RF, microwave and millimeter wave signal chain components.

The device is ideally suited for test instrumentation, high-linearity microwave radio, VSAT and SATCOM, and military and space applications. It is included in ADI’s Select Products for Q1, 2015.
