Digital signage player solutions reduce installation costs

Two Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) digital signage player solutions, suitable for multi-display applications, have been introduced by Avalue Technology. The SOPM-HM65 is powered by Intel 2nd/3rd gen Core i7/i5/i3 Pentium and Celeron Processors with Intel HM65 express chipset, while the SOPM-QM87 is based on Intel 4th gen Core i7/i5/i3 Pentium and Celeron Processors with Intel QM87 express chipset.

The digital signage OPS, developed by Intel, enables easy integration of a digital signage computing system or a pluggable module into the display panel. The standard also reduces installation and maintenance costs, as users only need to replace their interchangeable module.

The SOPM-HM65 supports one 204-pin DDR3 1333/1066 non-ECC SODIMM system memory with up to 8GB capacity. I/O includes two USB 2.0 ports, Lind-out, Mic-in, two SMA connectors, one Realtek ALC661 audio codec, one Realtek RTL8111E PCIe gigabit Ethernet and one half size Mini-PCIe socket. For storage, the device features a 2.5” (7mm) drive bay.

The SOPM-QM87 supports two 204-pin dual-channel DDR3L 1333/1600 non-ECC SODIMM system memory with up to 16GB capacity. I/O includes power button, one HDD LED, one reset button, two USB 3.0 ports, Lind-out, Mic-in, two SMA connectors, one Realtek ALC622 audio codec, one Intel I217LM PCIe gigabit Ethernet and one half size Mini-PCIe socket which supports mSATA SSD switch through BIOS. Alongside a 2.5” drive bay (7mm) for storage, the device offers 4K UHD content via a HDMI port and supports DP interface for second display presentation.
