Sensor enables measurement accuracy at very low power

Farnell element 14 is stocking the Texas Instruments HDC1000 low-power, high-accuracy digital humidity sensor. It has an integrated temperature sensor, providing excellent measurement accuracy at very low power, and it uses a novel capacitive sensor to measure humidity.

The sensing element of the sensor is placed on the bottom part of the device, which makes it more robust against dirt, dust, and other environmental contaminants. Both the humidity and temperature sensors are factory calibrated.

The innovative Wafer Level Chip Scale Package (WLCSP) simplifies board design by being supplied in an ultra-compact package.

The HDC1000 is functional within the full –40°C to +125°C temperature range.
