Avalue launches industrial Raspberry Pi alternatives

Avalue Technology announces the release of two new industrial-grade ARM-based SBCs – ACP-3566-PI and  ACP-IMX8-PI – engineered to meet the growing needs of Edge computing and IoT integration.

With support for both standard and demanding environments, Avalue offers flexible platform choices: the RK3566-based ACP-3566-PI for general-purpose applications, and the i.MX8M Mini-based ACP-IMX8-PI for enhanced reliability in industrial-grade deployments.

ACP-3566-PI: compact Edge intelligence with multimedia capability

Powered by the Rockchip RK3566 quad-core Cortex-A55 processor up to 1.8GHz, the ACP-3566-PI includes 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard eMMC storage, with microSD expansion support. It features 4K HDMI, MIPI DSI touchscreen, and MIPI CSI for camera input, and supports Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Designed for hardware compatibility with Raspberry Pi, the 40-pin GPIO header enables seamless integration with Pi-based modules and supports rich expansion such as UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, and RS-232/RS-485. This makes the ACP-3566-PI ideal for applications such as IoT control panels, smart signage, and compact embedded interfaces.

Key features of ACP-3566-PI:

  • Rockchip RK3566 with Quad-core Cortex-A55 up to 1.8GHz, 4GB RAM and onboard 32 GB eMMC
  • Support HDMI 4K output display, MIPI-DSI and MIPI-CSI video input and output
  • Support 40P GPIO and can be configured as rich expansion interfaces such as RS232, GPIO, SPI and I2C. It also built-in Gigabit Ethernet port, supports Wi-Fi
  • Small Size 85 mm * 55mm
  • Long life cycle guarantee and sufficient supply

ACP-IMX8-PI: reliable industrial computing with multicore efficiency

The ACP-IMX8-PI integrates the NXP i.MX8M Mini processor (quad Cortex-A53 + Cortex-M4) with Yocto Linux 4.0 support. It includes 4GB LPDDR4 and 32GB eMMC storage, along with diverse I/O: HDMI, MIPI DSI/CSI, four USB 2.0 ports, SD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack, and GPIO/UART expansion.

Measuring only 85 x 56mm, and an industrial operating temperature range of -20~85°C, the board supports industrial-grade operation with long-term availability, making it suitable for factory automation, smart city deployments, and AI Edge inference solutions.

Key features of ACP-IMX8-PI:

  • NXP i.MX8M Mini with Quad-core Cortex-A53 up to 1.8GHz
  • Support HDMI output display, MIPI touch display and MIPI camera
  • Support 40P GPIO and can be configured as rich expansion interfaces such as RS232, GPIO, SPI and I2C. It also built-in Gigabit Ethernet port, and supports BT/Wi-Fi.
  • Small Size 85 mm * 55mm
  • Long life cycle guarantee and sufficient supply

Seamless integration with Raspberry Pi ecosystem

Both ACP-3566-PI and ACP-IMX8-PI are designed for hardware-level compatibility with Raspberry Pi accessories, including MIPI displays and camera modules, GPIO-based sensors, and HAT expansions. Avalue ensures industrial-grade validation and long-term supply commitment, helping customers confidently deploy their applications in fields such as healthcare, smart retail, transportation, and automation.
