Panasonic Industry expand compact case hybrid capacitors production

Panasonic Industry Europe has announced substantial improvements in its hybrid capacitor production capacity, further solidifying its leadership position, particularly in the high-volume commodity segment of 6x6mm and larger, as well as in the more specialised 10x10mm and above range.

Hybrid capacitor technology

Panasonic recognises that hybrid capacitors represent a significant future trend and growing market demand. These innovative components effectively combine the benefits of aluminium electrolytic and specialty polymer capacitors, resulting in high endurance, low equivalent series resistance (ESR), and exceptional tolerance for ripple and inrush currents, even in elevated temperature conditions.

With their stable electrical performance at high frequencies, Panasonic’s hybrid capacitors ensure maximum reliability across a wide range of applications. Additionally, their compact design allows for considerable space savings on circuit boards. This commitment to offering a comprehensive range of cutting-edge products further solidifies Panasonic’s position as a market leader in the hybrid capacitor segment.

Strengthened market leadership

In response to current industry trends, Panasonic is implementing a multi-site production strategy (Business Continuity Plan) in Malaysia, resulting in a significant increase in capacity, particularly as regards the compact sizes of ø 6x6mm and ø 10x10mm and larger, as exemplarily demonstrated in the following table.

This strategic advancement not only strengthens the company’s position in the market but also extends its technological capabilities by introducing hybrid cap series, that offer the highest ripple current capabilities and the largest capacitance in compact case sizes.
