The PMD EM M-30 LR soil moisture sensor from Phoenix Contact is now being shipped by authorised distributor Mouser Electronics.
This sensor measures soil volumetric water content at a depth of 30cm and outputs the value as a percentage.
The measured values are made available every hour via a LoRaWAN network.
The sensor can be adapted to various soil types by simple parameterisation. The measured values are interpreted in the context of the respective application.
A JavaScript file is available for decoding the measured data.
