Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF54LM20B has been shortlisted for the Electronics Excellence Awards under the Semiconductor category.

The nRF54LM20B is an ultra-low-power, large-memory wireless SoC delivering AI intelligence to the smallest battery-powered IoT devices. With market-leading energy efficiency (193 CoreMark/mA at 3V), dedicated compute power, and unmatched ease of development, it accelerates Edge-AI adoption.

Enabling AI inference directly on-device delivers real-time or near-real-time responsiveness where latency is critical. Edge computing also conserves bandwidth and reduces reliance on continuous network connectivity, while local processing and storage minimise potential security breach exposure and help with compliance efforts. On-device processing also improves energy efficiency by avoiding costly data transmission to the Cloud.

This is achieved through cutting-edge hardware design – including the first integration of Nordic’s Axon Neural Processing Unit (NPU) – combined with ultra-tiny Custom Neuton AI models, and access to Nordic’s Edge AI Lab Development tool, an automated no-code platform for building compact AI models.

The result: advanced Edge AI made practical in compact, cost- and energy-constrained products.
