Key European events for electronics engineers

Key European events for electronics engineers Key European events for electronics engineers

The Electronic Specifier team has collated the best European events for you to add to your diary for 2026.

Whether you are an electronics engineers working across product design, embedded systems, power, RF, industrial automation, and hardware integration, or whether you’re involved in early-stage R&D or bringing products to market, hopefully each of these events has something unique to offer to your work.

ISE (Integrated Systems Europe)

ISE is a key event for engineers working in audio electronics, lighting systems, AV hardware, and integrated control platforms. Since relocating to Barcelona in 2021, the show has grown significantly in scale and technical depth. Strong product demonstrations, dedicated audio demo rooms, and a well-structured layout make this particularly relevant for engineers involved in end-product design and system integration, rather than discrete components.

Our experience: this is a very large show at over 80,000 attendees and 1605 exhibitors in 2025. I would go in prepared with a structured agenda for your meetings throughout the week, allowing plenty of time for the evening networking events on booths and make sure to schedule time to visit the audio demo rooms

Dates: 3rd-6th February

Location: Barcelona

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics

Southern Manufacturing & Electronics is the first major industrial event of the year.

Meet over 550 suppliers in one place, saving months of research and supplier visits. Explore innovations spanning advanced engineering, subcontracting and cutting-edge electronics, while connecting face-to-face with the industry’s key decision makers.

Our experience: whether you’re looking to cut costs, boost efficiency, or scale innovation, this is an event that can set your business up for growth. We’ve always had some great conversations at this show that have given us an outlook on the year ahead.

Dates: 3-5th February

Location: Farnborough, UK

embedded world Europe

embedded world remains a key event for embedded systems engineers globally.

With a strong focus on hardware, software, tooling, and real-world design challenges, it’s widely regarded as a serious, technically driven show. We’ll be exhibiting in full force in 2026 and covering the event across our YouTube and digital channels.

Our experience: it’s a good opportunity to really wander around and do research into the latest developments – make time outside of those in-depth meetings to really discover new technology with an open mind.

Dates: 10th-12th March

Location: Nuremberg

HANNOVER MESSE

HANNOVER MESSE is the most important international platform and hot spot for industrial transformation.

HANNOVER MESSE 2026 will focus on clear structures, targeted exchange, and new formats that provide orientation, foster dialogue, and drive business. A new thematic architecture will open up synergies and bring the full breadth of industrial transformation to life.

Our Automation News Editor, Lucy Barnard, will be attending. Make sure to email her if you’d like to arrange an interview!

Our experience: this exhibition is huge and covers such a broad range of industrial automation topics. I would home in on one or two particular topics or companies that are of interest to you and plan your schedule around those.

Dates: 20-24th April

Location: Hannover

The team at PCIM 2025

PCIM Europe

The PCIM Expo & Conference in Nuremberg, Germany is one of the leading international event for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy and energy management.

It connects experts from industry and academia who are dedicated to driving forward products, research, and development along the entire value chain. This has made the PCIM Expo & Conference an indispensable meeting place for the industry and the home of power electronics for decades.

Our experience: We’ve attended PCIM for many years now and it helps populate our Power column in each issue of ESD Design and gives us a heads-up on some of the innovations taking place in this space. We would recommend taking the time to chat with companies about the applications their products power.

Dates: 9-11th May

Location: Nuremberg

European Microwave Week

The 29th edition of the European Microwave Week (EuMW 2026) will come to London to continue the annual series of highly successful microwave events that started back in 1998. EuMW 2026 comprises three co-located conferences: The European Microwave Integrated Circuits Conference, The European Microwave Conference, and The European Radar Conference.

In addition, EuMW 2026 includes the Defence, Space, Automotive, and 6G Forum, and an extensive trade show. EuMW 2026 provides the opportunity to participate in conferences, workshops, short courses, and special events such as Women in Microwave Engineering.

The annual European Microwave Exhibition, which is by far the largest RF and microwave trade show in Europe, is held in conjunction with the conferences. The exhibition also includes a series of technical seminars and exhibitor workshops describing commercial products and processes.

Our experience: our Contributing Editor Mick Elliott has been attending this show for several years now and he sees it as one of the number one places to connect with thought leaders and engineers in the test and measurement space. The seminars and workshops can be highly technical so make sure to take a notepad!

Dates: 4-9th October

Location: London, UK
