Mornsun’s high efficiency K78Uxx-500R3 series of switching regulators has been designed for use in space-constrained applications which demand high efficiency. With efficiency up to 93%, heat loss through dissipation is minimised for reliable and robust operation. The 12W switching regulators have a wide input range of 9.0 – 90Vdc and outputs ranging from 3.0 – 24Vdc.
No heatsink is required, for further space savings in addition to reduced mounting costs.
The K78Uxx-500R3 series comprises seven, non-isolated DC-DC converters. Models range from 1.65 – 12W and each is available with a 90° pin formation (‘L’ suffix).
In addition to low ripple and low noise operation, the switching regulators have a MTBF of >2,000,000 hours. They also incorporate short circuit protection and thermal shutdown safety functions and are RoHS-compliant.
The DC-DC switching regulators have a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
The K78Uxx regulators are pin-compatible with Mornsun’s LM78xx linear regulators and can be used to directly replace them.
