SEGGER introduces Flasher BitStreamer, a new embedded software solution that further expands the programming capabilities of its Flasher family of in-system programmers (ISPs).

With Flasher BitStreamer, SEGGER Flashers can program not only microcontrollers and (Q)SPI flashes, but they can now also program a broad range of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and complex logic programmable devices (CPLDs).

Flasher BitStreamer replaces complex, multi-tool setups with one flasher

Traditionally, FPGA configuration required separate tools and programmers, as well as additional setup-related effort. Flasher BitStreamer streamlines this process. Serial Vector Format (SVF) and Standard Test and Programming Language (STAPL) files can be converted into a self-contained package that is either copied directly to a Flasher or exported as a ready-to-use ZIP archive – all in a matter of seconds. No scripting. No hassle. No compromises.

“Flasher BitStreamer simplifies in-system programming of FPGAs,” says Dirk Akemann, Head of Technical Marketing, SEGGER. “With this new software, our Flashers are truly a universal solution for handling systems on a chip (SoCs), microcontrollers, external memory, and FPGAs with just one tool. With SEGGER Flasher, one programmer does it all.”

Flasher BitStreamer supports all Flasher models and all FPGAs that support programming over JTAG from SVF or STAPL files. As with all SEGGER tools, there are no recurring license fees – just reliable, professional solutions that developers and production professionals can count on.
