How can software-defined and sustainable mobility be designed on a global scale? This question was the focus of the electronica Automotive Conference 2025, which took place on 10th September at the ICM – International Congress Center Messe München.
This was the first-ever co-location with IAA Mobility, and provided the ideal setting for this to bring together decision-makers from the electronics and automotive industries. The presentations and panel discussions covered topics ranging from new technology trends to geopolitical challenges. The discussion will continue at electronica, in November 2026.
”As the global leading mobility platform, IAA Mobility provided the ideal setting for the electronica Automotive Conference. The co-location built a bridge between the electronics and automotive industries, brought experts from both fields into conversation, and thus set groundbreaking impulses for the mobility of tomorrow,” said Caroline Pannier, Exhibition Director of electronica. Since 2021, the established conference has also been held in the years between electronica.
At the electronica Automotive Conference, decision-makers from companies such as Audi, Aumovio, Infineon Technologies, Microsoft Automotive Germany, NXP Semiconductors, Robert Bosch, and STMicroelectronics discussed current innovations and challenges facing the industry.
The presentations covered topics such as global strategies for electromobility and software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving, new developments in lighting systems and the use of AI, and cybersecurity issues. In panel discussions, participants discussed geopolitical conditions, the challenges of international cooperation, and Europe’s role in technological transformation. An extra panel on the main stage at IAA Mobility focused on ways to strengthen Europe’s competitiveness, especially since semiconductors and software are becoming key strategic factors in the automotive value chain.
From 10-13th November, 2026, electronica in Munich will resume and further deepen the dialogue. The next electronica Automotive Conference will kick off the trade fair on 9th November, 2026, as well as in the forum programme of the trade fair itself, covering topics such as cybersecurity, printed electronics, embedded systems, IIoT, connectivity, printed circuit boards, and sensor technology.
