Altair Selected by u-blox to Power Single-Mode LTE Wireless Modules

Altair Semiconductor today announced that its FourGee-3100/6202 chipset has been selected by u-blox to power its single mode 4G wireless modules, the TOBY-L100 series. Increasing numbers of consumers and businesses are relying on LTE technology to implement the “Internet of Everything” which requires high-performance and cost-efficient LTE modules such as those being developed by u-blox and Altair.

“When benchmarking potential partners to build our LTE modules with, Altair’s offering was selected due to its unique combination of performance, maturity and cost,” said Thomas Nigg, Head of Product Marketing of u-blox. “The partnership between Altair and u-blox will produce LTE module products that will deliver highly differentiated 4G wireless modules to our customers.”

u-blox modules based on Altair technology are expected to release commercially before the end of 2013.
