“MindTree’s Reference System solutions open up exciting possibilities for connected health,” said Chuck Parker, executive director, Continua Health Alliance. “They support the Bluetooth transport and all Continua recognised device specialisations, allowing vendors to easily integrate them into real devices to create new Continua-certified end product solutions at a significantly lower cost.”
MindTree’s IEEE-11073 stack is implemented in ANSI-C and is easily portable, providing an operating system and transport abstraction layers across the Bluetooth Health Device Profile and USB Personal Health Device Class. The solution comprises of the IEEE-11073-20601 layer and a comprehensive suite of IEEE-11073 104xx manager and agent roles for a host of device specializations as per Continua v1.5 specifications. The stack’s compactness, maturity and completeness, allows consumer medical device makers tablet OEMs and smartphone OEMs to realise an easy path to commercialising Continua-enabled products.
“Today there are many health and fitness devices which use proprietary mechanisms to exchange information, both wired and wirelessly,” said Vinod P. Deshmukh from MindTree Limited. “However, with Continua’s defined interoperable system, one vendor’s device will be able to seamlessly communicate with another vendor’s host. As a leading provider of licensable Bluetooth intellectual property (IP), MindTree offers the most complete implementation of the Continua health device communications standards. Our portfolio of Continua-certified solutions empowers OEMs to easily and cost-effectively integrate their devices with the larger health care system.”
