“The Quatro 4300 has allowed us to achieve the processing power we wanted at the right price, bringing our development costs right down so we can give our customers the performance they want at a pocket-friendly price,” says Annie Ko, Marketing Director at HiTi Digital. “Because the firmware platform is easily customisable, product development time was significantly cut, allowing us to bring the Pringo to market quickly.”
The Quatro 4300 SoC is a highly integrated, programmable processor for printers, scanners and all-in-ones. Each Quatro 4300 SoC embeds a high-performance ARM9 CPU core and a Quatro SIMD DSP core for print acceleration and image processing.
“HiTi Digital has used CSR’s SoCs for its professional products that require high-performance processing in the past and was able to deploy the same solution for the Pringo because it offers a high level of integration for a cost-effective price,” says Neil Epstein, Senior Director of Product Marketing, Document Imaging at CSR. “Portable printing is growing in popularity with consumers using smartphones to take photographs and wanting to print them, so they can have a physical memory that a digital image can’t offer. But they still want the high-resolution images at a good price and Quatro 4300 has allowed HiTi Digital to achieve this.”
