IMAPS-UK “Making MEMS Work” Event Details Announced

UK Microelectronics Packaging Society (IMAPS-UK) is pleased to announce details its forthcoming “Making MEMS Work – BIG Ideas For Small Devices” Technical Seminar & Industry Networking Event being held at The Institute of System Level Integration (iSLI) in Edinburgh on 02 December 2010.

There are many BIG ideas for these small devices but product development can be hindered by obstacles such as the application specific nature, low volume production and specialist packaging requirements. Despite this some very successful MEMS products have penetrated the mass market and the uptake of MEMS is expected to grow significantly in the coming years.

This IMAPS-UK Technical Seminar being supported by the IeMRC will investigate the MEMS product development chain from research, design and development through to packaging and test, exploring techniques which help to address these challenges. Presenting companies and institutions include: BAE Advanced Technology Centre, Unisem, Teradyne, Optocap, Semefab, iSLI, Heriot-Watt University, Panda Europe & Selex Galileo.

In addition, there is a complementary tabletop exhibition showcasing leading companies in the field and Poster displays from MEMS related University projects throughout the UK.
