This talk, given by David Moloney, Movidius’ Chief Technical Officer, will take place during Session Seven on ‘Multimedia Processing’, and will be on the subject of a ‘One TOPS/W (One Tera-OPeration per-Second-per-Watt) Multicore Multimedia Processor’.
As David summarizes: ‘Current approaches to multimedia processing rely either on building dual or quad-core multicore instantiations of current Instruction Set Architectures, augmented with hardware to accelerate functions which are not amenable to acceleration in these ISAs. Such systems are expensive and difficult to scale in terms of cost and power dissipation.
During the Linley Tech Mobile Conference, Movidius will present and demonstrate an approach that focuses on parallelism within the ISA and across the multicore architecture to achieve truly scalable performance in terms of OPS/W/$.’
