AAEON Introduces a New Sub-Compact Board with Intel® QM57 Chipset: GENE-QM57

AAEON, introduces a new board featuring the Intel Core i7/i5/Celeron Processors up to 2.66 Hz with the Intel® QM57/HM55 chipset: GENE-QM57. This new 3.5 Sub-Compact board offers high performance function and multiple I/O interfaces to offer options for various applications.

The GENE-QM57 can support a 204-pin DDR3 SODIMM for up to 4GB of system memory. It has two SATA 3.0Gb/s interfaces and a CFast™ connector for operating system usage and storage. GENE-QM57 has Intel® 82577LM and Intel® 82574L Gigabit Ethernet ports to support reliable fast network connectivity. Using the ITE IT8712 I/O chipset, this SBC has eight USB2.0 ports, one RS-232 port, one RS-232/422/485 port, a keyboard/mouse port, Two-Channel HD audio with one Line-in, Line-out, Mic-in and supports 8-bit programmable Digital I/O. Furthermore, GENE-QM57 has one Mini PCI Express (Mini Card) slot for expansion. In terms of display, this Sub-Compact board supports VGA, DVI and 18/24-bit dual channel LVDS with resolution support of up to 1920×1080 full HD for optimal graphics support.

GENE-QM57 supports iAMT 6.0, which enables the user to easily monitor groups of PCs. The Intel® AMT 6.0 reduces on-site visits and acts as a monitor for hardware information with remote diagnosis for IT management, states Eric Wang, Product Manager of AAEON’s Embedded Computing Division. GENE-QM57 has the Socket G1 (PGA 988), which enables the customer to choose the processor that best fits their application. Since GENE-QM57 has a consistent coast line of rear I/O ports with the GENE Series, the end user can easily upgrade their systems without having to design new enclosures. Wang affirms.

For added adaptability, GENE-QM57 has an optional Trust Platform Module (TPM) to provide secure services for customers to embed GENE-QM57 into banking systems and other high-security platforms. End users can also insert a Mini Card in the GENE-QM57 to acquire WLAN for Digital Signage and other remote applications. This SBC also has the option to replace the DVI with a second 24-bit LVDS interface for end users to connect to multiple LCD panels without the use of DVI converters. Thus, GENE-QM57 is easily embedded into numerous markets such as Automation, Medical, Ticketing Machines, Banking, Transportation, Gaming, Kiosk and POS/POI applications. If you are looking to install a powerful, dependable and adaptable single board computer, AAEON’s GENE-QM57 is a solution worth evaluating.
