mimoOn offers wireless infrastructure solutions for CPRI and OBSAI

mimoOn GmbH has announced the availability of solutions for wireless infrastructure and test & measurement equipment based on CPRI and OBSAI interfaces. These solutions are available through a relationship with Radiocomp, an industry leading provider of IP cores and reference designs for CPRI/OBSAI.

mimoOn’s product portfolio includes the entire LTE Physical Layer and Protocol Stack Layers for both eNodeB and UE on Software Defined Radio platforms. The company’s mi!Infra software package for wireless base stations is fully featured and certified based on the Release 8 36.XXX series specifications from 3GPP. The software is written in high level language and is in modular form so it is easy to modify or customize even after being deployed – an important feature as the standards for the protocol layers continue to be revised.

“mimoOn has been the first in the world to offer an end-to-end MIMO LTE software solution on flexible, upgradeable platforms,” stated Thomas Kaiser, CEO of mimoOn. “Now with CPRI and OBSAI capability, the company will offer radio interfaces that are well known industry standards and that will reduce bill-of-materials, allow platform extensibility, and speed up product development and LTE deployments in the marketplace.”
Last month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, mimoOn demonstrated end-to-end LTE and high definition video streaming between its eNodeB stack and UE implementations.
