Extreme Engineering Solutions Ships First XMC Module hosting Freescale MPC 8640D Processor

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) has introduced XPedite5102, a high-performance short form XMC module targeting Freescale Semiconductor’s MPC 8640D processor. This card comes standard with PCI Express support and Gigabit Ethernet.

XPedite5102 is an optimal solution for military customers that require a boost in system performance with AltiVec / e600 core processing or high-end general computing applications.

“Multiple customers asked for a compact 8640D solution and XPedite5102 provides that perfect mix of size, performance and I/O,” states Bret Farnum, Vice President of Sales. “We’ve seen customers double their XMC slot processor performance by using this module,” adds Farnum.
