FTDI to introduce embedded USB host controller evaluation board at Embedded World 2008

At the 2008 Embedded World event, Future Technology Devices International Limited (FTDI) will unveil a new evaluation board V-Eval-1 for its VNC1L USB host controller IC. The board will provide a convenient and stable development environment in which to prototype Vinculum-based USB host controller designs and comes complete with onboard VNC1L programmer, 5v universal PSU and programming / debug utility software . In addition, FTDI will also present its full line-up of legacy USB to RS232 / RS422 converter ICs, reference designs and USB modules.

FTDI will also have a number of working demonstrations of its Vinculum-based USB modules, such as VDRIVE2 and VMUSIC2. These modules provide a quick and easy method of designing-in USB connectivity to a wide range of industrial and commercial appliances that previously did not have the resources to do so.
FTDI products are available through an international network of distributors, some of which will be exhibiting at Embedded World.
