TDK-Lambda’s SMT 3A to 20A DC-DC converters comply with 2nd-Gen DOSA standard for PoL converters

TDK Corporation announces the TDK-Lambda iCF, iCG, iBF and iAF series of non-isolated SMT DC-DC converters that comply with the latest 2nd Generation DOSA standards for Point-of-Load (PoL) converters.

Key features of the new DOSA-2 models include: high power densities, no external tuning components (plug & play), low profiles, high efficiencies, and Land Grid Array (LGA) footprint. These converters are ideal for harsh telecom and broadcast mast-mounted applications, as well as industrial, test & measurement, routers and medical equipment.

TDK-Lambda’s DOSA-2 product line is comprised of four series with output current/power ratings as follows, iCF (3A/16.5W), iCG (6A/33W), iBF (12A/66W) and iAF (20A/110W). All models within these series operate with a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 14V and feature adjustable output voltages from 0.7V to 5.5V with conversion efficiencies up to 94.5%. These miniature 2nd Generation DOSA DC-DC converters range in size from 12.2 x 12.2 x 4.45 mm (less than 0.5 square inch) to 33 x 13.46 x 7.75 mm. Optional EPC (Edge Plated Castellation) layout is also available.

Featuring fully-optimised control loops, all models within the series provide excellent transient response without external loop-tuning components (which are needed with some similar products available on the market). Remote On/Off, Remote Sense and Power Good Signal are standard. In addition, all models can operate in ambient temperatures from -40°C up to +115°C and include a 3-year warranty.

These PoL converters operate at a constant switching frequency of 600kHz, which provides a low noise profile and facilitates easy EMI filtering. All models are safety approved to UL/CSA60950-1 and VDE CB scheme per IEC/EN60950-1. These DOSA-2 converters are available now in production quantities.
