Having higher power capacity than contemporary coaxial cable types, coupled with reduced attenuation at higher frequencies, both types are highly suited for use in all RF systems that require high-power and low-loss coaxial cables such as armoured vehicles and land systems. Speedfoam 240 HT has a power rating of 680W at 450MHz while the Speedfoam 400 HT is 1820W.
The higher temperature rating, and therefore higher power rating, of Speedfoam HT cable is due to the use of a new, low-density PTFE dielectric as opposed to the foamed polyethylene (PE) used in standard cables of this type. The new dialectic also reduces attenuation, especially at higher frequencies.
