Femtocells? Learn all about them in London – 3-5 July

According to Open Basestatiohn, the buzz in the cellular infrastructure community is all about ‘femtocells’. Pocket sized home basestations that give consumers improved coverage, cheaper calls, faster downloads and, as yet to be defined, ground breaking new services whilst attempting to lock in the home owner and family to a cellular brand.

With industry analysts predicting sales of these home access points to exceed 32 Million by 2011*, operators, OEMS and niche players are all keeping a very close watch on femtocell developments and in particular the outcome of field trials already underway in Europe and the USA.

With so much interest, and so many people looking for answers to the questions of when?, why?, how? and ‘can I make money out of this?’, the forthcoming International Conference on Home Access Points & Femtocells in July 07 (http://www.avrenevents.com/femto2007/) provides the first opportunity for this nascent industry to grapple with these issues.

Operators, analysts, chip manufacturers, OEMs, and sub-system vendors from Asia, Europe and North America will be presenting at this high profile event, including:-

• Operators: Vodafone, Sprint (USA), Softbank (Japan), T-Mobile, O2, BT, Orange (France), Telefonica (Spain)
• Analysts: ABI Research, Ovum, Current Analysis, Strategy Analytics, Deloitte
• Major OEMS: Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Motorola, Huawei
• Vendors: Ubiquisys, Kineto Wireless, RadioFrame, picoChip, Netgear, ip.access, Tatara Systems, Azaire Networks
