A partnership agreement has been signed between displays specialist Ginsbury and Toradex, a Swiss based embedded computing solutions supplier, to support and supply Toradex's extensive range of embedded computer modules. Toradex also offers a range of customised SBCs with different performance levels, integrated features and price points.

Its Computer On Module (COM) coupled with a baseboard offers an equivalent solution to that of traditional SBCs. The COM approach separates the complex microprocessor system from the relatively simple I/O system and thus offers flexibility to customise the baseboard based on the feature and size requirements of the end-product.

Neville Milward, Director, Ginsbury commented, "The addition of Toradex embedded solutions and single board PCs is a very welcome addition to our product line-up. The Toradex product range will provide synergy with many of our existing display and system suppliers. This will enhance our ability to supply and support embedded solutions into a wide-ranging applications market."

This customisable combination provides a desirable alternative to SBCs in developing embedded products due to a high degree of flexibility and scalability. These embedded computing solutions offer in house support for Windows Embedded Compact and Linux operating systems, and Android and eCos through partners.

Toradex designs, manufactures and supports a comprehensive range of embedded computer modules including single board computers and computer on modules with support from semiconductor partners ARM, Intel, Freescale, Marvell and NVIDIA.

Leigh Gawne, UK Business Development Manager, Toradex said, "Ginsbury has an established UK customer base and a strong technical support network. These key factors will enable Ginsbury to develop and grow new business opportunities for Toradex. We look forward to developing a successful business partnership with Ginsbury and new UK customers."
