Resolver-to-digital converter ref. design for safety application

Texas Instruments' TIDA-00796 reference design is a complete resolver solution based on system-on-chip (SoC) PGA411-Q1 sensor interface. Typical application for the design is in electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) powertrain systems. The PGA411-Q1 based design solves excitation amplifier, boost converter, diagnostics, signal conditioning and reduces the PCB area. This altogether will reduce overall costs and time-to-market.

Automotive 12V/24V battery input protection ref. design

Automotive battery power supply lines are prone to transients while running the system. Typical protections required are overvoltage, overload, reverse polarity, and jump start. During the life of a car, the alternator may be replaced with a non-OEM part. The after-market alternator may have different or no load dump protection, which could lead to damaging the electronic control unit (ECU).
