Murata capacitor designed for high voltage industrial applications
Murata has announced the DE1 Type RB series of X1 class leaded ceramic safety capacitors. Suitable for use in high voltage industrial applications such as 3-phase power supplies or inverters driving 3-phase motors, the series is rated at 760VAC (RMS) for X1 class use. The DE1 complies with the internationally recognised standards IEC 60384-14, UL60384-14 and EN60384-14 for X1 / Y1 class capacitors used in EMI suppression circuits.

Cost and space saving aircraft power solution
Data Device Corporation (DDC) has introduced a new 280W converter to supply 28V power for IFEC electronics and USB charging ports for Portable Electronic Devices (PED), to up to 18 aircraft seats, with a compact, high output, and cost effective solution that the company claims delivers the industry's best power efficiency performance.
Network Rail prioritises safety and electric power
Network Rail plans to harness the expertise of researchers at the University of Huddersfield in order to solve some of the most pressing issues facing modern railways, such as reliability of electric power supplies and how to maximise safety. Sir Peter Hendy, who chairs Network Rail – the public body that owns and manages most of the network in England, Scotland and Wales – paid a special visit to the University’s Institute of R...
Value-added DC motors engineered with low currents
It has been announced by ISL Products International, a value-added manufacturing and engineering services for electronic/electromechanical components company, that it is expanding its brush and brushless DC motor and gear motor modification capabilities to further meet the exact specifications of virtually every specialised OEM application.
Small innovations with higher power
Exhibiting at stand D8 at the Battery Tech Expo on March 15th, 2018 at the International Centre, Telford is medical battery manufacturer Accutronics. The company there will be exhibiting a selection of smart batteries suitable for wearable devices and medical carts from its parent company, Ultralife Corporation.
Doubling capacity of high voltage testing to improve repair times
Usually carried out to determine benchmark data after a major repair is performance testing of high voltage motors and generators, however, increasingly, customers are requiring this information as part of a problem diagnosis or to verify performance figures for a component when its essential data has been lost.
NPC modules maximise power density and minimise losses
Supplier of module-based solutions for power electronics, Vincotech, has announced the launch of new neutral-point-clamped power modules featuring the latest IGBT technology for three-phase solar, UPS and ESS applications. Engineered to address the key challenges of high efficiency, low weight and small size, these flowNPC 2 modules outperform standard products.
