Off-grid energy cubes provide 230VAC output power
A new energy storage system has been announced by Stäubli Electrical Connectors. It can deliver 230VAC at powers from 200W up to the kilowatt range. The modular system uses swarm technology, and can serve as a 'portable socket' to meet off-grid energy requirements.
MOSFET has higher power density for computing
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor claims that its new generation of XSPairFET sets a new industry standard for high power density applications. The AONE36132 is available in a DFN 3.3 x 3.3mm package.
Dual digital power module delivers PoL conversions
The ISL8274M is an encapsulated dual 30A digital DC/DC PMBus power modules that delivers Point-of-Load (PoL) conversions for advanced FPGAs, DSPs, ASICs and memory used in servers, telecom, datacom, optical networking and storage equipment.
Unbox and quickly configure TI’s power module EVM
Learn how to set up and configure the evaluation board for the industry's smallest 36V, 1A solution, the LMZM23601.
Lowest power edge nodes: Structural health monitoring
Watch this video to see how the strengths of Analog Devices components and systems may be leveraged to realise an ultra-low power wireless sensor node.
TVS diode arrays protect telecom ports from ESD surges
Optimised to protect sensitive telecommunication ports against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and lightning-induced surge events, Littelfuse has introduced a series of AEC-Q101-qualified TVS diode arrays. SP4208 series TVS Diode Arrays (SPA Diodes) integrate low capacitance steering diodes with either one avalanche breakdown diode (for unidirectional protection) or two (for bidirectional protection).
Fully encapsulated dual power modules offers high power density
Renesas Electronics has announced two new fully encapsulated digital DC/DC PMBus power modules that deliver the highest power density and efficiency in their class. The dual ISL8274M operates from a 5V or 12V power rail, provides two 30A outputs and up to 95.5% peak efficiency in a compact 18x23mm2 footprint.
Buck-boost converter offers 1.3x longer battery life
A buck-boost DC/DC converter with built-in MOSFET has been developed by ROHM, featuring what it claims to be the lowest current consumption in the industry. As a result, it is suitable for electronic devices powered by batteries such as electronic dictionaries, remote controls for home appliances, and items such as toys, and other portable electronic devices.
International manufacturer invests in UK battery company
International battery manufacturer, Leoch, has announced an agreement to invest in DBS Energy, a UK battery specialist. The agreement will help the new company, DBS Leoch, to significantly grow its business and become one of the leading suppliers of batteries to industrial sectors in the UK.
A selection guide to IGBT and rectifier diode modules
Welcome to the IGBT and rectifier diode modules selection guide. An insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) is a three-terminal power semiconductor device primarily used as an electronic switch which, as it was developed, came to combine high efficiency and fast switching.
