MiniBridge connectors with Koshiri security are very robust
Expanding the company's 1.27mm pitch MiniBridge cable connector family, ERNI Electronics has announced variants which are very robust. Featuring a compact design, the connectors are suited for space saving connections between PCBs and decentralised function units, especially in the automotive market.
VideoFlow incorporates an ASI interface into its products
Due to the way in which video over IP is becoming the new standard for video delivery, VideoFlow is incorporating an ASI interface into its products. For the company, incorporating an ASI interface into its products is less costly than replacing existing equipment with ASI interfaces.
WLAN-Bluetooth filters are suitable for smartphones
Enabling the coexistence of cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth and satellite navigation services on the same antenna, TDK has claimed that the B8831 WLAN-Bluetooth filter offers best-in-class performance and size. The device achieves a much better Q factor than existing components and features a significantly lower insertion loss of only 1.1dB and high out-of-band selectivity.
CPU IP cores combine virtualisation and scalable performance
Combining a 64-bit architecture and hardware virtualisation with scalable performance, a family of MIPS CPU IP cores has been released by Imagination Technologies (IMG). The I6400 family, which provides multi-threading, multi-core and multi-cluster coherent processing, enables customers to implement a smaller core at the same performance, or a faster core in the same area.
Controlled Adaptive Rate technology recovers packets
To recover the packets lost during the delivery of video over unmanaged networks, VideoFlow has developed Controlled Adaptive Rate (CAR) technology. As in Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) technology, the CAR receiver monitors the network's capacity and the video stream health in real time, however, it sends statistics to the transmitter rather than the encoder.
Multi-port firewalls now support SHDSL connections
The EAGLE20-0400 and EAGLE30-0402 multi-port firewalls have been updated to provide additional flexibility of deployment and state-of-the-art security functionality. The Hirschmann multi-port firewalls, from Belden, have a new router redundancy and WAN interface to help achieve maximum network availability and security in any industrial setting.
Encoders integrate VideoFlow technology
Digital Video Protection (DVP) from VideoFlow has been integrated into SAPEC's Altum II encoders, it has been announced. With the integration of VideoFlow technology, the encoders can provide high quality, live video transmission over unmanaged networks such as the internet. In providing this, the DVP removes the need for a Service Level Agreement (SLA), reducing overall operating costs.
Ethernet switches utilise PoE+ to deliver more power
Enabling four Ethernet Switch ports to be simultaneously deployed for the supply of power, HARTING has announced the Ha-VIS eCon Ethernet switches. Using the higher-power variant PoE+ standard (based on IEEE 802.3at) to offer power levels of up to 34.2W, the Ethernet switches provide more power to connected system devices, significantly increasing the variety of potential applications.
Control panel targets master room controllers
A 6-button auxiliary control panel, which works as a remote control panel for master room controllers, has been released by Kramer Electronics. To communicate the over a single cable with controllers such as the Kramer SL-1, the RC-43T uses proprietary KNET protocol.
Models now switch SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and 3G-SDI
The Draco tera compact KVM matrix switch series, manufactured by IHSE, now features models capable of switching SuperSpeed USB 3.0 and 3G-SDI. Through the incorporation of I/O cards which can be individually loaded with SFP modules for coax and fibre connections, the switches allow users to choose and mix transmission formats.
