Vacuum expertise enables futuristic hyperloop
Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum imparts extensive expertise in vacuum technology to one of the most challenging transportation projects of the future. The German-American visionary Dirk Ahlborn, CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, has set the goal of making the seemingly utopian idea of Tesla founder Elon Musk become reality: From 2018 onward, people shall travel with aircraft speed through a reduced pressure tube system.
EuMW 2015: Duo collaborate for on-wafer measurement solution
A joint solution for on-wafer measurements on semiconductor components has been developed by MPI and Rohde & Schwarz. The turnkey solution for measurements on semiconductor components in the RF and millimeter wave ranges achieved by a seamless integration of Rohde & Schwarz vector network analysers (VNA) and MPI engineering probe systems was demonstrated at European Microwave Week in Paris.
Battery simulator cuts test cycle for mobile devices
A Battery Simulator and Precision DC Power Supply, the Keithley 2281S, offers the industry’s first emulation of battery performance from full charge to total discharge using a battery model that includes state of charge, amp-hour capacity, equivalent series resistance, and open circuit voltage.
TV analyser prepared for HEVC trials
Germany will soon experience the world’s first regular DVB-T2 broadcasting of HEVC-coded programs. Rohde & Schwarz is gearing up for this challenge by making its R&S ETL TV analyser – already well-known as a reference receiver – fit for use with the HEVC standard. A DVB-T2 pilot project with HEVC-coded programs was started in the Berlin region just about one year ago. Rohde & Schwarz is participating in the testbed w...
Fanless embedded system features high storage capacity
Vecow launches its latest vehicle computing elite, IVH-7700 ICY series in-vehicle fanless embedded system. The fanless in-vehicle system is a trusted solution for real-time performance driven in-vehicle surveillance, traffic safety systems, intelligent transportation systems, mobile NVR, intelligent surveillance and fleet management applications.
Programmable DC power supply delivers 3000W of output power
The 9115 Series has been extended by B&K Precision with the addition of a new multi-range programmable DC power supply, model 9117. The new instrument can deliver up to 3000W of output power in any combination of voltage up to 80V and current up to 120 A within its power rating.
PXIe VNA drives down wireless component costs
The M9485A VNA is a PXIe multiport vector network analyser unveiled by Keysight Technologies is designed for high-volume wireless component manufacturing of front-end modules, switches and filters used in mobile phones and base stations. The true multiport architecture provides best-in-class measurement speed up to 30 percent faster than competing offerings, while maintaining high dynamic range.
DAQ driver opens door to signal acquisition applications
The release of their newest driver for National Instrument’s LabVIEW software has been announced by Audio Precision. Developed with a broad range of signal acquisition applications in mind, this driver streamlines and simplifies the integration of the APx515 analyser as a robust, high-quality front end to LabVIEW-based measurement environments.
Boundary scan integrated into ICT platform
The availability of Boundary Scan integration into SPEA’s multi-core ICT (In-Circuit-Test) platform has been announced by Goepel. With the level of integration provided for the SPEA3030 ICT, execution of interactive Boundary Scan tests is now possible on all cores of the ICT (up to four). This results in maximisation of parallelism and productivity.
Double body phantom SAR measurement solution
“We needed to produce a cost-effective SAR measurement solution for test labs and wireless manufacturers that were testing body SAR to both FCC and IEC requirements, so we made the ART-MAN Duobody unit,” said Benoît Derat, President, Art-Fi. “The Duobody has two head side mannequins and two flat phantoms, making it a universal system for both head and body SAR testing to global regulatory requirements.”
