Data acquisition system upgraded with bridge measurement
A host of upgrades has been added to Brüel & Kjær’s data acquisition and analysis system - PULSE 20. These include a versatile bridge measurement tool for industries ranging from aerospace and defence to industrial and automotive.
Micro-ohmmeter has wide ranging test capabilities
The DO5000 series of micro-ohmmeters from Cropico are in stock at Seaward. The instruments offer increased flexibility for the highly accurate measurement of resistance values in a variety of electrical manufacturing, electronic component testing and equipment calibration applications.
Tunable laser sources expand spectral test options
The 81607A, 81608A and 81609A tunable laser sources are a range of modules for the Keysight 8164B lightwave measurement system. The modules extend the product family that debuted in March 2015 with the 81606A tunable laser source, an instrument with sub-picometer tuning repeatability and wavelength accuracy that is maintained even in full-speed, two-way sweeps.
Broadcast test centre features new compliance tests
The National Broadcast and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) in Thailand and the Vietnam Telecommunication Authority (VNTA) have been using the R&S BTC test centre and R&S AVBrun compliance test software since June 2015. In Thailand, the R&S BTC is being used to test DVB-T2 receivers and prepare for rollout.
USB oscilloscope supports multiple platforms
An open source USB oscilloscope designated SmartScope developed by LabNation is believed to be the world’s first test equipment designed to run on multiple operating systems and platforms such as smartphones, tablets and PCs. The lightweight SmartScope is powered directly from the host’s USB interface making it ideal for many test and measurement applications far from the workbench.
Test platform prepared for demo at ECOC 2015
The ECOC exhibition will provide the stage for Anritsu to demonstrate its recently released 64Gbps test platform for engineers investigating the latest Signal Integrity, Modulations, high speed PAM4 (pulse amplitude modulation) transmission techniques intended for use in 200Gbps and 400Gbps communications links.
Breath test shows possible biomarker for early-stage liver disease diagnosis
A natural compound called limonene, which is found in oranges and lemons, could be indicative in early-stage diagnosis of liver disease, according to research published in the journal EBioMedicine by researchers in the Molecular Physics Group at the University of Birmingham.
Enhanced analyser covers new applications
The enhanced T1 E1 Analyser from GL Communications covers new applications and enhancements. The newly introduced GL’s Synchronous Trunk Record-Playback (or STRP) application has both Record and Playback features that permits the user to synchronously record any type of traffic (voice, digits, and tones) on many complete T1 or E1 line (trunk) with accurate timestamp.
System upgrade accelerates 3D inspection of assemblies
The inline AXI system from GOEPEL electronics now offers an even faster high-end 3D inspection of complex assemblies. The “X40 PLUS” upgrade enables an X-ray inspection speed increase of up to 18 percent. Optimising the imaging chain in combination with an improved axle system and faster execution of the test algorithms results in significant savings of cycle time depending on the maximum resolution and the board dimensions.
PIM test lead optimised to 4GHz
A PIM test lead designed for use with factory PIM analysers where there is a requirement to test antennas and components has been introduced by Huber + Suhner. The lead can also be used in the field with portable PIM analysers. Users will include PIM equipment manufacturers, network installers and operators as well as T&M specialists.
