Power inductors are built & tested to MIL-PRF-27 Grade 5 Class S
Beta Transformer Technology introduces high-reliability, cost-optimised miniature Power Inductors (BPI series) and Common Mode Chokes (BCM series), that are a direct drop-in replacement for Pico Electronics power inductors and common mode chokes. Beta credits its optimised manufacturing facilities and focus on continuous process improvements, as its engine in delivering high performance and reliability, cost saving magnetic solutions.
Shhhhhhh – meeting the demand for minimal noise
A 3-phase brushless motor driver IC has been introduced by Toshiba Electronics Europe. The TC78B016FTG achieves high efficiency and minimal noise at a wide range of rotational speeds without any need for complicated phase adjustment, making it well suited for use in the small fan motors found in home appliances and industrial equipment.
Input voltage inverters configured for pan-European use
A comprehensive series of input voltage inverters with pure or modified sine waves has been introduced by Conrad Business Supplies as part of their in-house VOLTCRAFT product range. The new selection is composed of 14 models, each configured to meet different performance classes and signal outputs.
Micro modular reactor is cooled by supercritical S-CO2
A research team at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) (Prof. Jeong Ik Lee, Prof. Yonghee Kim, and Prof. Yong Hoon Jeong) has suggested an innovative concept of a reactor cooled by supercritical state carbon dioxide (S-CO2). The core has long life (20 years) without refueling as well as inherent safety features. The S-CO2 Brayton cycle was proposed as a power conversion system to achieve a compact and lightweight module.
Step-down DC/DC converter delivers 93% efficiency
Combining two high voltage 2.5 and 1.5A channels with a lower voltage 1.8A channel to deliver three independent voltage outputs as low as 0.8V, Linear Technology announces the LT8601. The 42V input capable, high efficiency triple output synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator uses synchronous rectification topology to deliver up to 93% efficiency.
Flexible, printed and thin film batteries: A new era for energy storage
The battery market has suddenly become alive again in recent years. On the one hand, batteries are assuming new form factors, becoming ultra-thin, flexible, rollable, stretchable, etc. On the other hand, manufacturers are scrambling to offer larger batteries aimed at addressing EV and grid applications. By Dr Xiaoxi He, Technology Analyst, IDTechEx.
Miniature, 20A power relay operates up to +105°C
Designed for applications in appliance, lighting, controls and similar markets, the AZ 576 miniature power relay from ZETTLER electronics meets the ever increasing demands for more power, more cycles and higher ambient temperatures. Establishing best-in-class standards in terms of UL performance, the 20A power relay solution performs at 277VAC at an ambient temperature up to +85°C (+185°F) with ratings of 20A for 30,000 cycles.
