DG38L Leaves Industry Standard Relays Standing
Willow Technologies introduces this unique PCB Power Relay, the DG38L from Durakool. Featuring a magnetic arc blowout, enabling the relay to switch 50% higher DC voltage than other relays of its type. The DG38L is designed to switch in applications where the DC voltage exceeds 24VDC. As the relay opens it will pull an arc.
Is Your PLC/DCS/RTU Protected Against Overvoltage & Surges?
Whenever PLC/DCS/RTU equipment and field wiring is located where lightning strikes are likely to occur, it is essential to include protection. The Surge Protection board from Omniflex is a quick and effective way of safeguarding sensitive electrical instrumentation from the damages that can be caused by overvoltage and lightning-induced surges.
Aitech's New CompactPCI Ethernet Switch Improves Network Connectivity
Aitech Defense Systems has launched the rugged C660, the first in a new series of high-performance, single-slot Gigabit Ethernet switches. The new 6U CompactPCI PICMG 2.16 compatible switch serves as a robust communications backbone for moving massive amounts of data around tightly coupled processing or I/O data concentrators, typically found in embedded telecom, military, aerospace and spacecraft applications.
Vishay Intertechnology Launches New QPL Tantalum Nitride Thin Film Chip Resistors for Military and Aerospace Applications
Vishay Intertechnology today launched a new surface-mount chip resistor with a QPL MIL-PRF-55342 listing and an established reliability “M” failure rate of 100 ppm. Built using a moisture-resistant tantalum nitride resistive film technology, the new E/H (Ta2N) QPL resistors offer enhanced specifications for military and aerospace applications, including tolerances to 0.1 % and a TCR of 25 ppm/°C.
Microsemi Introduces New Cost-effective Transient Voltage Suppressors to Protect Aircraft from Lightning Strikes
Microsemi Corporation today introduced two new cost-reduced versions of its transient voltage suppressor devices in its patented plastic large area device (PLAD) package. The lower cost 15kW MPLAD15KP and 30 kW MPLAD30KP TVS families meet lightning-protection requirements in aircraft, including the multi-stroke standard (RTCA DO-160E), that have grown in importance as a result of the introduction and growing use of composite body airframes.
Stackpole’s RHC2512 for Power Applications Requiring Low Self Heating
The RHC2512 is a two-watt thick film chip resistor which utilizes special materials, design, and processing to achieve low heat rise compared to other high power chip resistors. The RHC2512 has a hot spot temperature of just under 120C at 2 watts where most 2512 size chip resistors may reach that temperature at only 1 watt of applied power.
Kontron unveils ESC1600/ESC2404 Ethernet Switch Core Modules
For the accelerated development of custom-made, high-availability switches, today Kontron has introduced the world's first 10G/1G Ethernet Switch Core Modules providing all essential interfaces on a standardized footprint. The Kontron ESC1600/ESC2404 Modules are the first of a series of application-ready Ethernet switching building blocks, enabling developers of individual high-performance switches to drastically save on development costs.
ROHM Semiconductor Announce The Industry’s Smallest Zener Diodes
ROHM recently announced the development of the smallest Zener diodes in the industry ideal for high-density mounting in portable devices such as smartphones. Size is reduced by 55% over conventional 0603-size (0.6x0.3mm) products. The ultra-compact form factor (0.4x0.2mm) contributes to increased miniaturization and sophistication in devices requiring greater compactness and minimal thickness, including mobile phones and digital cameras.
Multilayer ceramic chip capacitors: C0402 (EIA 01005) MLCC with twice the capacitance
TDK Corporation presents a new MLCC in size 0402 (IEC) with the highest rated capacitance of 0.22 µF*. The TDK C0402 is designed for decoupling applications in compact mobile devices such as smartphones. With its rated voltage of 6.3 V, the capacitor is suitable for any voltage present in such applications.
Gateway's New EPCOS PFC capacitors for industrial applications
Now available from Gateway Electronic Components is a range of compact power factor correction capacitors which have been designed for applications where space is at a premium. The EPCOS PhaseCap Compact series is available in a choice of diameters of just 116 and 136 mm and insertion heights of 164 and 200 mm making them ideal for use in PFC systems including three-phase industrial networks, for example.
