Heatsink clips save time, cost & PCB real estate
Advanced Thermal Solutions has introduced clipKIT, a heat sink attachment system available exclusively from Digi-Key that can be used with most industry standard, off the shelf straight fin, pin fin, cross cut or slant fin heat sinks. The system improves on heat sink performance in thermal transfer, and vibration and shock resistance.
Polyamides enable USB Type-C connectors
Royal DSM has announced that its high-performance polyamides, Stanyl and Stanyl ForTii, have been approved by global producers for use in next-gen USB Type-C connectors. DSM’s materials answer the need for improved levels of safety and reliability. The company highlighted its various solutions for mobile devices at Chinaplas 2015, which took place from 20th to 23rd May in Guangzhou.
Cable assemblies suitable for security & test system applications
The Cable Assembly division of Intelliconnect can now provide customers with high performance semi rigid cable assemblies suitable for industrial, defence/security and test system applications. Standard semi-rigid cable assemblies are generally of copper construction, offer low loss, low VSWR performance, are phase stable and can be phase matched.
M12s improve operational efficiency & reduce cost
Designed for factory automation and industrial lighting applications, the Brad Micro-Push M12 connectors have been introduced by Molex. Featuring an innovative push-on mating interface, the connectors reduce installation time up to 80% compared to screw-style connectors and facilitate simple blind-mate connections in tight locations.
BASEC approved cables suitable for fire-critical applications
Eland Cables has further extended its portfolio of products with a range of Firetec products suitable for fire-critical applications. The Firetec range is fully compliant with BS 7846 and 7629-1 and also approved to BASEC and LPCB standards. Many of the cables have been certified by Transport for London as LUL 1-085 compliant for sub-surface use.
RF connectors offer performance in micro-miniature designs
Amphenol RF introduces its ultra-miniature Amphenol Micro Miniature Coaxial (AMMC) PCB connector suitable for space-constrained RF applications with 50Ω impedance requirements. These connectors are fully compatible with the Hirose W.FL and IPEX MHF III series. The connectors are low profile, 1.4mm off the board, mated, with a small footprint of 2x2mm.
Cable installation simulator minimises assembly damage
At the International Microwave Symposium, which took place from 19th to 21st May in Phoenix, AZ, W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) showcased its GORE microwave/RF test assemblies and cable installation simulator.
Preconfigured assemblies suit high frequency applications
Amphenol RF introduces fixed length SMP cable assemblies as the suitable preconfigured solution for high frequency applications with 50Ω impedance requirements. The cable assemblies offer high performance up to 26.5GHz and are highly reliable in test environments.
Gigabit Ethernet connector provides high-speed data transfer
ERNI Electronics continues to expand its M12 connector product offerings. Recent additions to this popular form factor include an enhanced Gigabit Ethernet connector that facilitates 10GbE applications. Providing reliable high-speed data transfer, the M12 X-Code Gigabit Ethernet connectors are designed for reliable and rugged industrial data communications applications.
Connector offers tool-free installation
HARTING has recently annouced the M12 PushPull connector which allows manual installation without the need for special tools, therefore speeding up its installation in tight spaces. The M12 PushPull locking solution can be plugged rapidly and securely, as well as indicateing correct assembly with a clearly audible click.
