Complete solution for USB Type-C to DisplayPort adapters
A complete silicon and software solution for USB Type-C to DisplayPort adapters has been released by Cypress Semiconductor. The EZ-PD CCG1-based Type-C to DisplayPort Cable solution enables connectivity between a USB Type-C receptacle and a DisplayPort (DP) or Mini DisplayPort (mDP) receptacle, allowing emerging Type-C notebooks and monitors to be interoperable with older products.
Terminal pin suitable for use in BTB & WTB applications
A terminal pin suitable for use in a variety of BTB and WTB applications, has been introduce by Mill-Max. It features a compliant press-fit tail, slotted head and a press-fit feature on the barrel of the pin, providing a reliable connection.
WTB connectors can operate in high vibration conditions
The latest series of wire-to-board, crimp style disconnectable connectors, claimed to provide optimum performance in high vibration conditions, have been introduced by JST. The PBV connectors are compact with a low profile and a 2.0mm pitch.
Connector withstands ambient conditions in splash zone
The recent Han F+B connector series from HARTING has been released, featuring a design that is optimised to meet the hygienic requirements of the food, packaging and beverage industries. The range has been developed specifically to withstand the ambient conditions encountered in the splash zone (Zone 2) as specified by the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group guidelines.
XXL system provides connectors with more space
A modular connector system that enables the configuration of connectors without any space limitation has been introduced by ODU. The ODU-MAC, offered in XXL housing, permits the maximum amount of multi-pole connectors with standard components.
Connector system now available in corrosion resistant plastic housing
Multi-Contact's versatile CombiTac connector system is now available with plastic housings, making it suitable for industrial environments and other applications where resistance to aggressive chemical agents is required. The connectors can be fitted with any combination of high voltage, high current, data, fibre optic, power, thermocouple, coaxial contacts and even pneumatic and fluid connectors.
BTB connector family features high-speed transmission
Hirose has developed the FunctionMAX group, a versatile BTB connector family that features specialised floating alignment capability and/or high-speed transmission. The FunctionMAX BTB connector family includes connector series that are available in various configurations including vertical/mezzanine, right angle/riser card and coplanar.
Aerospace Ethernet cables offer increased data rates
W. L. Gore & Associates provides GORE Ethernet Cables to meet the civil aerospace industry’s emerging need for higher data rate cables in a lightweight, flexible, routable package. Engineered for the demands of modern airborne digital networks, GORE Ethernet Cables provide high-speed data transmission up to 10Gb over longer distances.
Sponge connectors suitable for LCD panels & circuit boards
Fujipoly have released their self-supporting sponge connectors, which are suitable for connecting LCD panels to circuit boards with a very low deflection force. Each connector is made from an economical and reliable Zebracore that is sandwiched between two soft sponge supports.
Single-circuit storage battery connector support 150A
Hirose has introduced the PS3C series connector, a high power, single circuit (position) cable connector supporting 150A for storage battery applications. The PS3C series is designed with a highly reliable blade contact that features a clip-like structure and bellows contacts with multiple contact points. This structure lowers contact resistance and enableshigh current flow.
